Always wanted to tell your story? Join Mary O’Dell’s memoir-writing group and get started.
Here are the particulars:
- Six weekly 2.5-hour sessions running Tuesday, May 4, 2010 to Tuesday, June 8, 2010.
- Noon to 2:30 at Karen’s Book Barn & Java Stop on Main Street in LaGrange, KY.
- Cost is $25 per session (pay per session).
- The group will be small (8-10 people) and tailored to meet individual needs. To sign on, or for more info, email “LindaGoin AT gmail.com” (use the @ for AT, remove spaces and quotes before you send).
Mary O’Dell is president and founder of Green River Writers, Inc. and has taught writing workshops for the past 15 years. Her prose and poetry have appeared in collections, anthologies, periodicals and encyclopedias both locally and throughout the country.
Karen’s Book Barn & Java Stop has coffee, teas and goodies to snack on, but no substantial lunch menu. You may want to eat lunch before you attend the sessions. UPDATE: Karen noted that it was fine if people wanted to bring sack lunches to the workshop. Thanks, Karen!
NOTE: I attended this memoir writing workshop during February and March and loved it so much that I’m attending again. It’s a great opportunity to learn about memoir writing (which is different than an autobiography), and a great way to meet other writers, too.
